You should also think about our weather. Dry winter heat and humid Wisconsin summers make floors expand and shrink a little. Good laminate handles this well, as long as it's acclimated and installed with the right expansion gaps. That's one big reason we recommend having a pro do it.

It can, but we look closely first. Basements here often deal with moisture coming up through the concrete, especially in spring. If your slab is dry and we add the right vapor barrier, laminate can work well. If moisture is a worry, luxury vinyl is the safer choice. We'll check during your free measurement.
